Catchy punk/rock SONGS. McDonald is one of my favorite bass players, he's the coolest performer, world-class act. I wish I could see them play live.

Eight messages down... There's me saying: "about bloody time to come to Amsterdam again, isn't it?" And guess what? Five years later, they're coming! Sharing the bill with Melvins. My God. Last time I saw them was at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. 1997. Twenty (TWENTY!) years ago. I'm stoked.

I can't believe a band came from my hometown of Hawthorne, seriously, nothing goes on here anymore.

... if you dig RK then you might like Thee Hypnotics. I often find their sound quite similar ...

One of the best power pop bands of all time. I wish they would make another album.

Hey guys, this is the Shoutbox for Redd Kross, not a place to pimp your own shit to " whoever's Into Rock/Alternative". I mean, can you use a more generic/vague musical description? It described countless good to un-good bands, from the Replacements to Third Eye Blind (you can decide which of those goes where according to your own taste,or lack of it, But that's besides the point-Why do you think Redd Kross fans,in particular would dig your music? Do you have a similar sound? They've traveled around the rock n roll map, going from HardcoreKids to Powerpoppers to PsychedelicScreamers+more. Do you appreciate all their stuff? Or maybe you've never even heard them?Listen to cuts from as many Redd Kross records you can find. They play a wide range of impressive music w/ smart funny lyrics. Then when people DL your song, tell 'em how cool Redd Kross are! Give Them the ShoutOut -FROM YOUR CRAIGSLIST AD! Maybe MatthewSweet is OK to plug on ReddKross' page.He Is a Friend. But who is Becky B.?!

Redd Kross are fabulous. Phaseshifter is their best album however. Sorry Rekhmire and apollospawn! :)

i almost completely agree with rekhmire. except i must say that third eye was the 1 that got me in to them, and remains my fave by them today. that's not saying that there is not some awesome work on the other ones. just that most often when i have 1 of their songs pop in my head "out of the blue" 9/10 times its from third eye. and sometimes if i'm not to where i can get access to the songs to listen, i end up singing the whole album to myself. although there's one other song that pop's in my head almost as much as the third eye album and that's "blow you a kiss in the wind" from teen babes from monsanto. absolutely, both they and jellyfish deserved more success with the general public. however, i've noticed they are in a special grp. of musician's musicians. meaning that they are most known by and have more than anything influenced and inspired other musicians (and artists). that's a wonderful complement. and bands like these usually continuously resurface too, because of this.
