They were a great band. Gayle McCormick deserved to be huge. What a great voice!

The Weigh is sooo good. I know, it's a cover, but it's as good as the original.

"When I'm thinking about writing a movie, I look through my record collection," .... "And I start trying to find songs that I think are appropriate, that have the same personality and rhythm I'm looking for, and it kind of gives me a handle on the movie." Tarantino

One of my favorite bands. "Baby It's You" and "The Weight" are the ones everybody knows, being on the Death Proof and Easy Rider soundtracks respectively, but they had plenty of other good songs too. Their albums are hard to find (the CD release of A Group Called Smith is out of print, and their second album Minus-Plus was never released on CD) but if you dig deep enough you can find vinyl rips and a CD rip of the first album uploaded to various music blogs. Other good songs by them include "Tell Him No", "Who Do You Love", "I Just Wanna Make Love To You", "Mojaleskey Ridge", "Minus-Plus", and "What Am I Gonna Do?".

They recommended me this band too! Similar to Roger McGuinn, The Fraternity Man, Fraternity of Man and The Holy Modal Rounders. Yeah, and I've never heard of ANY of these bands.
