to those that have the vinyl of Ending/Returning: is the fuzz, crackle & pops standard on the Steven R. Smith part? my records looks to be in mint shape and i doubt it has anything to do with my record player, but this is a bit....excessive, and overpowers the actual music, sadly

new record is great as usual, full of those small spontaneous details that make his music so enthralling... am liking the Ulaan Khol side a bit more at the moment ...

Old Skete 10... a reprise of "Wan and Smiling Assent"?! So surprised and delighted to hear that on the new record. "Wan..." is my favorite SRS track--hell, it's probably my favorite piece of music ever.

Strange, I never thought of his music as being "meant for the wilderness" at all; rather, I've felt his work has always had a deeply human element. It's a reason why I respect him a great deal: he is an artist that is neither above nor in some way "apart" from the rest of us: he is with us. Such amazing music, and without a doubt very evocative.

I wish Cities was released on CD. I know vinyl is cool and all, but I just don't have the resources to play vinyl.
