Saw em with Priestess and Early Man at The Earl in Atlanta, Feb 2006. Couldn't hear for a while afterwards.

The intro that is Celestial Crown to the debut album is enough to tell an appreciator of this kind of music that what follows will be epic! New style honestly feels like something coming from a completely different band though.

I like both Sword and The Sword, but Last.fm should separates these bands, not merge them together, nonsense, they don't even have the same name!

Considering how much I love their preceding albums, I think that "Used Future" is one of my biggest musical disappointments ever. No energy, no soul. 2 decent songs?

Used to liked them a bit when Age of Winters got out, but quickly lost interest in the band. Not really my cup of tea. I like Canadian heavy metal Sword way more, Metalized is one hell of an album.

Warp Riders was their peak. Got the heaviness from Age of Winters mixed with the craftsmanship of Gods of Earth, and added a sprinkle of psychedelics to for the perfect Sword formula. At first I didn't like it at all, thought of it too much of a change in thematic style, but after all these years, I think it's right in the middle. High Country and Used Future went too far into hard rock/psych-rock territory without bringing much new. Long live The Sword!

They seriously went downhill after Apocryphon. I really tried to give High Country and Used Future a chance, I mean, there are a couple solid tracks on these albums, but overall the change in style was just too much for me.

This band really had something great and unique going on, it's a shame the last two releases bored me to tears.

80's Canadian Heavy Metal band Sword should have their own page. Both albums Metalized and Sweet Dreams are excellent.

"Is The Sword the correct name for this artist?" NO, not when I listen to SWORD.

You should stop listening to shitty hipster metal and listen to traditional metal more often.

So you take the high ground of “Thanks for being condescending.” And immediately turn to homophobia with “ok faggot”. Thought for once we may have had a metal head on this site that could articulate a genuine response, but it’s the same old “my band rules and it makes me mad that the site doesn’t work the way I want it to so I resort to homophobia because of my own insecurities” rhetoric.
