The difference is very subtle, no need to hunt it down unless you're a serious collector. There's only slight change in reverb, echo and panning as far as I can tell...

Interesting, I will definitely look into their earlier stuff soon. I love Palms, amazing, atmospheric dreamy post-rock, truly beautiful music and oddly enough, I have never been a fan of Godflesh. I don't know why, I've never been able to quite get into them. I will check out those other recommendations though, thanks!

Good for you then, there is always hope. I'm a racistsexistislamophobehomophobenazikilledsixquintillionjews don't you know. Every site I am banned from should be a badge of honour. Have I made your acquaintance on RYM previously sir?

I didn't think I was ignoring you. I rarely sign into here, usually I just let last.fm do it's thing in the background. I had to get a new computer a few months ago too so I had to reinstall everything. And all that crazy life stuff, debt collectors and such. They sure take the fun out of things.

Yeah, I think it's true what you say. And it's a problem, because european states in general have a need of strong politicians who can say what's it's worth for their countries and what FMI's and ECB's demand can be attended and what must be ignored. Politicians who can balance between the economical equilibrium and the social global health. But, sadly, either right wing or the center of the left, they only obey that abstract avatar called "the markets". When younger, I didn't understand to those who denounced the danger of global world, but now I see it pretty clear: the domain a great, great number of population by a very little number of people. In this case, those who control the great banks of Western countries. It's true that we can deplore our governors, but they are who make the rules. Anyway, the're few laws like those that regulate abortions or public demostrations that aren't controled, and in these, the spanish governs are so, so conservative. Almost absolutists.

The worst thing about Spain is that the right wing party that's in the governement is turning laws similar as in the disctatorship period. And they don't do like in the States, they want survive to the crisis trampling over the working class. They're scum. On a good day.

that was exactly it, I was just feeling the need to point out the the similarity to the douche anecdote in an episode of South Park. I'm not sure what is Eddie's stance on Obama though, I honestly stopped caring about politics in the world when I realized I don't like studying it. As for the rest of that Eddie's in-your-face attitude, it seems quite genuine. Unlike that of Bono. Since when does not identifying yourself with other's opinions make them douchey?

haven't you seen the warning before each South Park episode? It reads "blah blah blah, opinions of CBS. Don't fucking watch this show while stupid."

Thanks for the recommendations. With so much material it can be a bit daunting as to where to begin. I've only listened to Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes so far, but I hope to get to everything else eventually. I'll definitely prioritize the ones you mentioned. Great taste, by the way. Greetings from New Hampshire.

I gotta say the newest volume isn't the best. Kinda disappointed... I'm into minimalism and all, I listened to it in its entirety but I couldn't get my head around it. It's a bunch of Basinski-esque loops dragging for eternity but in a very lo-fi rumble. I could've liked it more if the sound wasn't cut at such a low frequency. Volume 3 is one of my favorite Final records in general, lots of exciting and varying sounds. The two first volumes are pretty good too, but I listen to them rarely because of their length. Give them a skim in Bandcamp and hear for yourself!

Yeah man, the album was a really pleasant surprise and F.O.D. is killer! Did you notice the new Final, White Static Demon and Transitional albums?

@sonderpatient well, I guess it's a matter of personal taste. I find the image of that plague doctor disturbing and intriguing.. @Bolshevized - thanks for the recommendation. I've been listening to electronic music (mostly Berlin school) for almost twenty years. I didn't know Majeure, but it's very, very interesting. I'm wondering what I could recommend in return. Do you happen to know the band The Soft Moon (they are from San Franciso)?

Wound up picking Songs of Love and Hate (more than partially cos it shares a name with my favorite album) as a jumpoff point, and wowowow I'm really digging the huuuge hulking grooves & Gira-ish vocals/lyrics. Us and Them is up next! Thanks a bunch for the extensive recommendation man!

I know, I know - it's a slippery slope. I better go turn myself in. Prison is the only place that can hold back my satanic desires to murder everyone. Uh oh - I am now having the urge to make a rubber band gun. THERE IS NO TURNING BACK. I AM A COLD BLOODED KILLER. TO PROTECT THE INNOCENTS I MUST KILL MYSELF. *bang*

Our musical tastes have certainly diverged a bit since the beginning, but I've noticed low compatibility is usually the best type of compatibility on this website. I just had this conversation with someone else a few days ago, at least it can be interesting to see new and other types of musical interests that way. Also, I tried to text you but I'm not sure if you have the same number, or thought I was just some random weirdo, lol. It was a 2357 number. I've heard of Evoken actually, I used to have some music by them and I think I enjoyed it. I'll have to check them out again to make sure though. I need to diverge my music a bit more lately too, I've mostly been listening to the same few bands the past year or so. Time to switch it up a bit. Also, totally not opposed to seeing your face in the real world, it's been like 10 years or something ridiculous. Though I feel totally old these days so we can sit around like old people somewhere an do elderly things or something.

YOU. Help me! My last.fm stopped working two months ago and I just now noticed, haha. I've been trying everything I can think of to get it to work but nothing is working. I updated, reinstalled, put last.fm on all the exception categories in my browser. No idea what I'm missing. You're clever, right? lol :C Tasukete!

I usually don't add people I don't know, but for someone (else) who rocks Autechre and Tom Petty, I'll have to make an exception. I'm always looking to expand my list of the saddest songs of all time, so feel free to check my list and leave a comment if you have something you think would fit: http://www.last.fm/user/UCHalcyon/journal/2010/01/12/3byx0n_saddest_songs Also: new Jesus album... wha? Did you mean Jesu? Can you provide a link?
