Hahaha! No, my Bandcamp profile stopped syncing with Last.FM, for some reason! Believe me, I have listened to it quite a lot! It’s fantastic! :) I have been using Spotify less and less lately, so sadly a lot of my scribbles don’t show up anymore. What’s your take on Coherence?

I immediately fell in love with 'Valence' and 'Hidden Window'. It took some spins for the rest to kick in, but as always they delivered . ;-)

I'm not too keen on their latest album, but maybe I haven't given it a fair chance yet. I absolutely love their older stuff, I wish I could find it on Spotify!

Doing customer support. Recording audiobooks (for hobby, not professionally). Speaking of music and cosmos- a few years back I linked a music project in your shoutbox. It was- I think- some sort of radiation "sounds" of our Solar System planets organised into patterns emulating music (my memories are vague and I can't find any reference to it right now, and the title of the project eludes me. I am aware Golden Disc, but that's not it).

The Juno probe has also recorded some interesting stuff from Jupiter! And NASA did a compilation of "spooky" sounds fro Halloween 2017: https://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/features/halloween_sounds.html

Hello again from Germany, we are missing you here at lastFM ... there haven't been scrobbles by you for over a month :-( I hope all is fine on your side and you make a comeback soon... How I found your user page again? ... I was glancing over messages from 2011 June in my shoutbox... Wishing you a nice Tuesday, wherever you are currently

Hello! Sorry, I barely use last.fm these days, and sometimes Spotify acts up and won't scrobble... I really really miss the old last.fm and all of you friends here! Hoping that you are doing well, and that 2019 brings you loads of good things! :)

Oh :-( I have read in the official lastfm support forum about those problems... Hope they get it fixed soonish... Yeah, the good old lastfm was glorious. I don't know have you seen in my shoutbox/blog yet? The lastfm team is doing new things: new scrobble database, new design... Hopefully it gets better again here, slowly... WIshing you a nice Sunday

Oh, those are really good news! I'll have a look through your blog! :) What I miss the most is the old radio, and the ability to listen to other people's radios. It really opened my eyes to so much new music! I'm not sure it's possible to bring that back with the way music streaming works nowadays, unfortunately.

Did you try it yet with youtube? One can set up spotify or youtube. E.g. I set up here on lastfm with youtube videos: https://twitter.com/6degrees_lastfm/status/1077474564664426496

I have tried it, and I have a scrobbling plugin for my browser, but what I could find on YouTube are mostly complete albums as a single track, so they won't scrobble correctly. Maybe I just need a more mainstream musical taste! :)

Oh, I see. Yes, I like Megaman quite a lot since when I was... Six, I suppose. I love both the classic and the X series, and I enjoy the NT as well, but don't tell anyone about it, or they'll kill me 😂 Ok, I only like the NT series because it has got me into Megaman. AND HEY, Python, eh? I like Python quite a lot. I really mean it. I'm not sure if I can help you, since there are lots of bizarre libraries that are almost standalone applications, but I am here! :D Seriously, tell me what you're having trouble with and I'm gonna help you. And well, I see, physics are really interesting. IT is also very nice, but I'm kinda bored to be honest :( I know it's very out of the blue, but I'm thinking about dropping my course and study Old Norse instead e_e''

To be fair, many of the stereotypes about Britain are quite true (I think the same can be said about any culture!). So tea, rain and brick houses are all commonplace here :D I think the bad reputation British food has is underserved, though - there are some really nice dishes! And the desserts are amazing... My biggest gripe with Spain in particular is how little appreciation there is for science, and knowledge in general there. It's what always made me feel like I didn't belong - my main life goal is learning as much as I can! The UK is very different in that sense, and it's probably why I always felt so welcome here. How interesting that you have Venetian ancestors - my Italian family is from that region as well! :) You should definitely visit when you get the chance, it's a beautiful area. As for Assimil, I found it very intuitive when I tried to learn Russian, as it's a method where you learn through conversation. I don't know how easy to find it is these days, though...

What other videogames do you like? Do you still play? As for Python, I managed to crack the problem - hurrah! I was trying to implement a flood-filling algorithm for a very specific case. I found a method called "label" from the scikit-image package that does exactly what I need. I have only just started learning Python, but I love how flexible it is, and the fact that it has such a huge community behind it (so there is always someone you can ask for help!). Oh, Old Norse sounds really interesting! I am sure you can find ways to make IT more interesting, if you don't want to drop it completely - have you thought about getting involved in data science? I have several friends that work in the field, and love the challenge.

Well, the reason why english is such a trainwreck, is because it has had far too many influences and borrowed from far too many languages which are vastly different from each other. Think of a word like "knight". How many phonemes, aka sounds does that have? 4, and that's absolutely idiotic. Anyways, I don't know why, but I always assumed you're british. So where are you originally from? And finnish language is hard indeed. It's actually on this paragraph of the hardest languages to learn on the deep end. That's mostly due to all the suffixes we have. They're really hard to get right, because there's also a lot of exceptions to the rule. Actually black holes are one of my main intrests, next to dark matter. I'm no researcher, but I do enjoy reading and listening about them. I'm also kinda intrigued by all the celestial bodies near us which have the potential to harbour life-forms, like the icemoon of Titan. Well, most things related to the big questions intrigue me.

That job description sounds like you're a proper scientist though. That's good and something to really be proud of. I guess I can see the relation between Drudkh and Numenorean. That's the area of music I listen to a lot though (atmospheric black metal), so I wouldn't necessarily put them that close together, but they do share a lot in common for sure. Drudkh is proper relaxing though, yeah hah, like a cup of hot milk. Shylmagoghnar was a pretty talked about in some of the metal-circles I hang around in when they just came out, and upon hearing "I am The Abyss", I was certainly convinced. And the first album was Emergence, the upcoming second one will be titled Transcience. I checked out Gehtika, seemed pretty cool. Not treading any new waters, but really quite enjoyable nonetheless. Haerken is still on my to-do-list. There's so much music coming out all the time that it's hard to keep your head above the water, if you know what I mean.

And the new Skeletonwitch really was a double-edged sword. While on the other hand, I like the more serious new Skeletonwitch, and how they seemed more tight and more proficient, I still really miss the sillier, old Skeletonwitch. The new vocalist is pretty good, but I miss Chance, he had such unique voice. I'll reserve my judgement somewhat though until I hear an entire album. It could be that that will have much more of the heavy metal-influence than the EP, which I'd certainly hope. I mean, don't get me wrong, I really like their new sound, but now there's a risk they'll become faceless in the crowd of thousands. The Skeletonwitch I knew and loved sounded like nobody else.

I have always lived here yes. I actually still live around 20kms from where I was born, I'm not that adventurous of a fellow. When I was younger, we used to go to holidays to various islands and parts of Greece, but like yourself, I'm not too intrested in hot places and as such I haven't been interested enough to visit any place further than Stockholm or Tallinna (Estonia) in around 10 years. If I were to travel, it would be about the culture for me - either I'd like to see museums, ruins, temples to the old gods etc or go see some band play somewhere or some big festival. The big downside of Finland is that it's such a small country that a lot of great tours just skip us. And judging from what you described yourself as, I think you'd do great here hah. Were a whole nation of introverts. If I have questions about stellar matters, I'll be sure to ask you. It's good to know someone who actually knows about this stuff.

Even though I'm fascinated about it all, I am not a scholar on the subject, it's just a intrest I pursue on my free time. Atmospheric black metal is going through it's most prolific period at the moment, so you're in luck. OH OH!!! That reminds me, a band you absolutely have to check out is Mare Cognitum. They're space atmoblack! Their latest album, Luminiferous Aether is absolutely incredible and one of my favourite albums of last year. Anyways, if you wanna go down that rabbithole and explore atmoblack further, I'm your guy. That's a type of music I'm really into. So what were the bands you started with when it came to black metal? I'm actually huge fan and supporter of Bandcamp. I think it's a great way for smaller bands to go on without label, for guys like me to discover music and so on. I found Troldhaugen to be quite exiting. I really like weird music, such as Mr. Bungle, which surely must be an influence to them too.

I went earlier this year and I just spent a day there on the way through to Lithuania but I like it a lot. Had a 10 hour bus journey to Vilnius and just spent my first day here. Very nice...smaller than I expected but thats no bad thing. Visiting a castle tomorrow!! I agree...I love stormy weather...especially at night, Well food is sometimes a challenge since im vegetarian but they do a great cake here in Lithuania called Sakotis! No souvenirs yet. I will get some later. haha dont have room for any at the moment! p.s sorry about the long message!! :D . Hope you are getting on ok with work!! Your holiday time soon!

Switzerland has been nice. lovely scenery but I havent really picked up much Italian. Actually learnt more chinese and latvian as they are some of the languages other people staying here speak. Yes...i have heard about the crazy weather. Its been very warm here too but luckily im up in the hills so its a little cooler but still too hot really for me. Glad I was not in England while it was that hot! That will be great to see your friend and take some time to relax...good plan!!! I shall keep you updated. Thanks!! p.s do you speak any Italian?? Also what sort of places do you have on your travel wishlist?? Sometimes I think i should try and get outside europe but its just so convenient and so much different culture in relatively short travelling times when you only have little money

Hey sorry for not replying sooner. Internet is down again so I only have phone internet which doesnt work well with last.fm as its an old phone!! Im considering taking a bit of time out travelling first before I consider courses...but thanks I shall definitely be in touch if i need advise. haha oh no sounds very stressful! my advise is take some time to get everything sorted no need to do it all at once. Just concentrate on the really important and necessary bits and take your time with the rest. What is the house like you are staying...have you visited previously or is this the first time?

I saw that yesterday...and yes the line-up looks very good. Would like to go myself but will have to wait and see what my plans lead to...if anything. Im not 100% sure at the moment. Im looking into foreign language or international relations courses but also im thinking maybe it would be better to do something with a more 'defined' career path so just doing some research at the moment. Thats good it is sorted but yeah i imagine it will be chaotic!! Nothing planned as of yet...I am currently falling to pieces with all sorts of injuries and illnesses so im hoping they clear up a bit so I can do something!!!

So much effort to attend. haha oh dear maybe practise in secret for a while then :) bah work is really not fun and i've had a crushing headache for the last few days so not a good week at all.
